Volunteer at Mount Moriah Stables
We could not provide exceptional service to our clients without the devotion of our tireless volunteers! We rely on our volunteers at many levels to ensure our clients are safe, our horses are happy, and our facility is functional and safe. Plus, it's an excellent opportunity for you to learn about horses and how they sense human energy and welcome you into their herd.
Mount Moriah Stables welcomes volunteers. Horse experience is a plus but not required. Please complete the Volunteer Form, and our volunteer coordinator will contact you to discuss volunteer opportunities and to schedule a training course. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Volunteer Opportunities
Program volunteers: Assist with horse handling or sidewalking. You have the opportunity to groom, handle tack, and prepare horses for lessons, allowing our clients to begin their sessions with the horses already prepped and ready to go. Program Volunteers are asked to commit to 2 hours per week for the duration of a 4- or 6-week program.
Special Event Volunteers: Assist with horse shows, open house events, picnics and potlucks, BBQs, concerts, and other special events.
Grounds Maintenance: Work with the ranch manager to keep grounds clean, safe, and beautiful by planting trees or flowers, raking grass or loose hay, fixing fences, mowing lawns, working in the gardens, painting, etc. You can also learn basic solar power maintenance and basic garden irrigation techniques.
Office Volunteers: Assist with mailings, filing, and general office organization on a regular basis or as needed.
Volunteer Training
Mount Moriah Stables offers various levels of training for every volunteer to learn how to be safe and effective around horses and in lessons. Training is offered throughout the year and are usually two hours long.
